The brand

Brand context and starting point

FX-Music Group has distributed instruments, accessories and professional audio since 2002. Its range includes guitars, amplification, keyboards, percussion, wind and string instruments, microphones, and studio and stage equipment from more than 40 brands. The business works with a nationwide dealer network and also serves end customers.

Engagement priorities

  • Make the most important brands and models in the range easy to find.
  • Treat trade partners and end customers according to their different buying needs.
  • Lead technical searches to the right product rather than a broad category page.
  • Reach customers searching for manufacturers even if they do not yet know FX-Music.
Challenge

The business challenge

Most musicians search Google for a manufacturer or a particular instrument, not for the distributor behind it. The campaigns therefore need to be present across many small, highly specific parts of the range. FX-Music also serves two very different customers: dealers buying for resale and individuals choosing equipment for themselves. Combining them into one result would make it difficult to see what is actually working.

Strategy

How we set up the work so results repeat.

Portfolio

We organised the account around the way customers search for equipment. An exact model query should lead to that product, not to a broad category that asks the customer to start looking again.

Buyers

A dealer ordering for resale makes a different decision from a musician buying one instrument. Separating the two allows both sides of the business to be measured fairly.

Feed

Customers compare instruments and professional audio by detailed specifications. We keep model data accurate and present in the product feed, because a missing item also disappears from product advertising.

Depth

FX-Music knows the seasonality, audience and potential of its brands. We combine that experience with advertising data instead of relying only on automated platform recommendations.

Execution

From strategy to ad accounts and creative.

Structure with clear roles

Each campaign type had a clear role in the funnel and its own way of being judged.

This wasn't about polishing single lines. Each angle had to spark the right image of the brand, reinforce positioning, or help the buyer move to a decision.

Results

Outcomes that mattered to the business.

Commercial figures remain confidential. What we can show is the working model: every important brand and product group has a clear place in the campaigns, product data is monitored and trade results are kept separate from retail sales.

  • Google Ads is organised around the brands and models in the range.
  • Trade partners and end customers are managed and measured separately.
  • Regular product-data checks support visibility across a broad technical catalogue.
  • Results are reviewed by brand and product group, not only for the account as a whole.
From the founder
Advertising for a distributor is very different from advertising for a conventional retailer. Customers look for the manufacturer and model first, so results are built patiently across the whole range. A dealer and a musician buying for themselves also expect different things, and the campaigns need to reflect that.”
